This page is more or
less devoted to modern pictures of Nashville, Mo. The once lively village
still exists and is still the home to two active churches. But there is no
commercial activity. The Nashville, Missouri, Post Office where Claude
Crouch and his father served as Postmaster was closed many years ago. But
the building still stands, to be photographed time and time again. This one
from the official Crouch Family Reunion Photo Album was taken in 1972. There
are two other commercial buildings left on the road by the Post Office, one
a garage and I'm not certain of the other. There is a companion page titled

Larry,
This building was a grocery store. During the late
1920s until
perhaps 1937 Henry and Estella Newsom ran the store and a lunch
counter. In 1938 Charles and Frances Thurman (my folks) rented the
building and had a store until 1940 when we moved down on Highway 43.
