We met up at
the Nashville Christian Church. Our daughter and her husband came in from
Little Rock and joined our group. To the left is a scan of the Farmhouse
dating back a good many years. The house is currently unoccupied and seems
likely to stay that way. Most of us got chiggers and ticks from the
exploration. I hadn't had any chiggers for a long time. Not my favorite form
of nostalgia. The church is in excellent shape and is used by the
surrounding area as a community center. We spent a lot of time at the
cemetery. This is the only cemetery I went to. Dale and Cathy and Julie,
Dorothy and Bud had more cemeteries to go to however. Eventually we split up
at the church and Dale and Cathy went to Lamar and then to Texas and the
other group went to Pittsburg and then to Moskogee.
The Nashville cemetery pictures are on a
separate page. Pat and I went back to Neosho with our daughter and met
up with Howard, Helen, and Lon at our motel. Lon's house had survived the
flood. We set up the computer and went through the various photographs and
the scans Julie had done the day before. Lon decided to get a room at the
motel and we went out to dinner. Everybody agreed to meet at Shoney's in the
morning. See July 6, 2007,

"I
was glad to get the picture of the house – with the good shot of the
hitching posts. It brought memories – as kids, a lot of our play time was
on that rod.
We
would turn over and over on it, challenging who could go around the most
times. I remember we would really get dizzy, but we thought we were having
fun!" Mi;dred Rehklau

The hitching posts are close together and the pole
is gone entirely
It can be pretty, but there are chiggers in the brush

These Neosho motels have a bathtub in the bedroom.
Beats the galvanized tub of my youth, which was set up in the kitchen as I
recall. I was young then.
