According to Jonathan Crouch, "John Crouch, another brother lives in California. I visited him several years ago and found him on a fruit farm with ten acres of pecan trees. He seemed prosperous and happy."

At the time of Aunt "Em's" death in 1944, her obituary listed one brother living in Sacramento, California. That would be John Crouch who was the last of the Ambrose Crouch children. Not sure what he was doing in Fresno.

Madera is close to Fresno. Not sure of source for information, but would date picture. There are other dates - apparently from census records at the above site

1880 Willisburg, Washington IN (clearly KY)  he, John J C Crouch, age 14 lives with his brother Richard and his wife, along with Julia (his mother) and Ellen (his sister).
1910 San Francisco, San Francisco, California he is boarding away from his family, states he has been married 8 years, is working for the railroad.
1920 San Francisco, he is still boarding out, listed as married and lists himself as a motor man for the street cars.
1930 American, Sacramento Ca he is remarried and retired.
