This is a
new puzzle for this site. We don't have a date or a location for this
picture. We have obtained some very limited identifications. Some of the
people were present at the 1913 reunion, and they are considerably older.
Any help at all would be sincerely appreciated. Once again Julie Meredith is
the source of this photograph which comes from her mother Myra's extensive
collection.
You always hope when you run a web site like this
that you'll get an email like this -
Cindy Chabolla writes: "I became even more
excited to see the picture you have titled as the 1930's reunion picture. My
mother and I were able to pick out many people in that picture. Two of the
women in the picture who are cousins of my mother and are still alive (in
their 80's). I am contacting one of them
to see if she remembers the reunion and when and where it was held. Based on
just looking at the possible ages of the people my mother knew in the
picture she judged to be probably late 1930's. All of the people we knew of
in the picture at that time lived in Illinois, mostly Decatur and
Shelbyville."
How Cindy found the site is an interesting story,
but for this page she identifies a lot of these people.
Cindy finally solved the puzzle with some help from
a cousin who is in the picture:
The reunion picture was taken in 1946 in Decatur I think. I am
holding Nancy and she was born in March 1946, and I think the boy in
front of Aunt Amy was Dennis Booker, Maurine's son. He was born in
April 1945. Our brother was not in the picture, he was in the navy
at that time.
I have some pictures I'll send after I get my glasses and can see
better. I remember going to Taylorville, Il for a couple reunions and
they were in the 30's, but I don't have any pictures from them.
I'm sure you are busy with your girls. We have 5 grandchildren and 3
greats, the 4th in September. We are lucky, most of them are close
and we get to enjoy them.
I hope you will bring your mother to IL again. I understand she
wouldn't want to come by herself. We don't go much, Deans health is
not to good, most of our going is to the doctors.
It was nice to hear from you, I will try to do better next time.
Love
Imogene
The internet continues to give us more information.
Dear Larry -
I happened to find your web page as I was reviewing some Crouch family
history. I am the great, great granddaughter of Richard Crouch & Laura
Logan Crouch. My name is Sally Thomas; I live in
Normal , Illinois .
My mother (Gladys
Breckenridge Thomas), who is a very active 84 year old, is the
oldest surviving member of our family. She is the daughter of Hugh &
Edna Breckenridge. Hugh Breckenridge is the son of Richard Breckenridge
and Martha Jane Crouch
Breckenridge. Martha is the daughter of Richard Crouch & Laura
Logan Crouch.
I have sent two other e-mails with further information on two other
portions of your web page. I was so excited when I came upon your web
page. The first page I saw was the 1913 picture of the Crouch
reunion. I immediately recognized my Grandfather Hugh Breckenridge in
the picture. My Mom was thrilled to see the pictures. They will be
added to our family history notebook. I hope the information I
provide is helpful to you. Please feel free to contact me for further
information.
My mother is able to provide names for the 1946 reunion picture. My mother is in the picture. In fact, we have the same photo in our family album!

Also of interest, there
